P90X Review: Day 12 - Legs & Back

P90X Workout: Day 12

OUCH! Is there any other word you can use to best describe Legs & Back? I threw in the Ab Ripper X video first this morning. This workout kicks my butt, so I wanted to make sure I got in a solid ab workout first. I can’t wait until the day when I can perform all the reps that are performed in the ab video. There is over 340 reps, and I’m still taking breaks throughout them. Less breaks than my first week, but still taking them.

I’m not going to lie to you, I am cursing at the TV when Tony breaks out the wall squats. These things are killer! The only thing that makes it worse? Finishing off the day with calf raises. Ugh. I did them all this morning though - I can guarantee my calves will be screaming at me tomorrow. Especially as today is also my day to run.

Nutrition

I am probably boring you to death here, but the nutrition is doing very well. Not much more to say. I think what I will try to do next week, is give you some ideas of what to eat, and maybe show you some of the things I am eating. I think most people struggle with this part of the training and I’d really like to help anyone who is reading. If you have any questions, or anything you’d like me to discuss nutrition-wise, let me know. I’ll do my best to answer your question, even if it has to be researched a little.

Day 12 Review

Day 12 - Leg & Back went much better than Day 5 Leg & Back workout. I can feel my legs getting stronger, as well as my ability to do chin-ups. It’s just about the end of week 2 and I can feel a difference. I can’t wait for the up-and-coming weeks so I can really push myself.

I am having an issue understanding what i should be eating. Im eating alot of chicken, fish, and have also found turkey brots that are low in calories and fat. Im starting out around the same weight you are and wandering if you could give me an insight on what and when you are eating. Thanks man

    Hey Adam-

My diet is a work in progress too. From what you have told me, it looks like you are eating the right foods, but what is your portions like? How often are you eating? Are you tracking your calories?

There can be a lot of variables, so let me know what you have been doing and we can try and figure it out!

My portions are fairly small, i have to be honest i havent been tracking my calories well but know enough that im not over doing it on them. I have been really watching the fat grams in everything i eat and have been pretty strict with the water. Im on my second official week and ive noticed inches but not really a whole lot of change at the scales. Ive noticed youve added running to your workout which i may do to speed the process. Should i be tracking all the calories that are trackable everyday? Not sure how many calories i should be consuming either, i’ll hafta look back at the book. Thanks for the response man!
